Here it goes (rolling my eyes) the whole 4th of July hoopla. Yeah, this time around I decided to stay home as in Brooklyn for the holiday. Big mistake. I usually tend to go away but the whole traveling and being stuck in traffic with a toddler I decided to stay for a change. I mean, not to say that I didn’t have any fun but good God. First of all so much crowd.  Between the locals and noisy tourists there was no possible way to even get a seat because there is always those crazies who come and stay for ten hours in park just to see few minutes of fireworks. Because I knew people like that exist, I decided to come at least few hours earlier. Still, no way in hell you could get even close as to getting a decent seat. At least my little one had fun and that’s what matters.

Now that I vented lets talk about my cute dress. Very patriotic but discrete. I have few dresses from Tulle4us.com and they are extremely cute. Although, I wish they made them just a wee bit bigger on the booby part. They do tend to run smaller on the breast-s. My boys are cuteness overload as well. I wore heels and at the end of the night my footsies were little piggies but all worth while. I felt pretty and comfy for the most part.

My outfit: Dress – Tulle4us, Bag – Street Level from ModCloth, Necklace – Burlington, Shoes – Bamboo got them at a local store.

P.S. Hope everyone had a great 4th of July : )

Today was my housewife-y day. Look at all the food I’ve made. Since I had a day off I decided to start my celebration early on. Breakfast was a very berry patriotic toast. Lunch was portabello burger (oh so yummy) and for a little snack it’s brie cheese with bruchetta toast, black currant jam and blackberries. Now, since breakfast and snack really don’t require a recipe I will share the Portabello mushroom recipe because you should try this beast at least once in your lifetime.

First thing you will want to do is marinate the portabello mushrooms . For the marinate use 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar (I’ve used pomegranate vinegar), 2 tablespoons olive oil and about 2-3 cloves of garlic minced. Place mushrooms in ziplock bag with marinate and leave at room temperature for couple of hours. Afterwards place mushrooms in oil heated pan and cook on high for about 3-4 minutes per side. Instead of buns I went with whole wheat bread and put gray poupon mustard on one slice and light mayo on the other. Then I placed some some salad with onions and avengers I mean burger assemble. For the side salad thingie which goes so great with burger I used small cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese and stuck them on toothpicks. On top of the little skewers the garnish was fresh basil, cilantro and garlic all drizzled with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil and pomegranate vinegar. There you go enjoy your meal.

I’m usually into fashion as in clothes, but sometimes I wander into the beauty world and dear baby Jesus am I glad I did some wandering this time.  I heard so many beauty bloggers just raving about this ColourPop cosmetics and I kept passing on the opportunity to buy them. Then I went and checked them out, um.. can we talk about major options and prices. I almost fell outta my chair when I found out that they are actually affordable and so many choices in colors.  It’s like Unicorn heaven. So the next smart thing I did is purchase these puppies and certainly no disappointment. Mailman delivered my cute package and inside it was a little message card so it makes me love them even more. To me little details are very important. So onto the colors, they are just amazing, pigmented and last, so if you’re still wondering if you should get these,  the answer is Yes! Yes! Yes! Stop reading and go shopping @ colourpop.com
